Indonesia: Coretax replaces e-Faktur as the national VAT invoicing platform from 2026
Indonesia's Directorate General of Taxes retired e-Faktur as the primary channel for tax invoice administration on 31 December 2025 and made Coretax the mandatory national tax system. From 2026 Coretax is the main platform for VAT operations and annual SPT returns, with cleared e-invoices as the primary data source. The operational shift is the model, not just the interface: Coretax validates invoices in real time before they can be issued to the buyer, making this a clearance regime covering domestic B2B and B2G, exports, and rectification documents such as credit and debit notes. ERP integrations built for e-Faktur's batch upload pattern need reworking for host-to-host or API clearance, because an invoice that fails validation cannot be issued at all.
